This was quite the easy river crossing for most of my friends, but it looks like I was struggling a bit.
We got unlucky with the weather after day one. An early season system moved in following the previous week's heatwave bringing strong winds, cold temperatures, and light snow.
Even Miche was feeling the weather a bit.
We didn't have much luck fishing at Lake Schmidell. We did some casts with spinners at the outlet to the small lake, but thought the cold temperates and high winds were keeping the trout away. I've read the Forest Service has been working to remove trout from lakes in Desolation Wilderness to restore the natural habitat, but I don't know much about it.
